1st World Confessions

Developed as part of a think tank at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. The intention of 1st World Confessions is to liberate the idea that the United States of America represents the pinnacle of national progress and is thus a functional model to base the rest of the world’s development. We challenge that narrative by inviting citizens to disclose the unique suffering that comes from living in the United States. Our intention is not just to be critical but to honor that the United States that works for everyone is not only possible but necessary for liberation on a collective level
